To whom it may concern,

I saw in the reference design for BQ76952 (TIDA-010216,TIDA-010208,TIDA-010247), there is a zener diode on gating pin of external balancing MOSFET or BJT. I would like know what is purpose of this zener diode, does it related to the functional safety? Is that highly recommended to have it?
