TPS4H000-Q1: Temperature rise problem

Part Number: TPS4H000-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

My customer tested 70 degree Celsius temperature rise. It is abnormal. I do not have any waveform now. Can you tell me what waveforms and materials you need to check?

Voltage: 13.5V Current: 300mA

They tested with a 47 ohm resistor.

Regards,

Peter

  • Hi Peter,

-Does this happen on one part or multiple?

-Is the thermal pad soldered to copper? Or is it floating/contacting the PCB FR-4?

-What is the current limit/current limiting resistor?

-What channels are active, and which have 300mA through them? Or is it 300mA combined?

-Can you provide a waveform with VS, VOUT (that has current on it), ILOAD (whichever channel is active), and STx/FAULT?

    Thanks,

    Patrick
