TPS26750EVM: Help requesting EPR AVS contract

Part Number: TPS26750EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS26750

Tool/software:

Hello,

I've successfully requested PPS and fixed EPR contracts on the TPS26750EVM. I'm struggling with requesting AVS contracts as a sink.

I've put a valid AVS PDO (0xD230968C) in the TX Sink PDO 8 and a Fixed EPR PDO (0x0008C1F4) in TX Sink PDO 9 of the Transmit Sink Capabilities register (0x33). I've also changed the TX Sink Num Valid EPR PDOs register to both 1 and 2. In Autonegotiate Sink Register (0x37) I've updated the EPR AVS Enable Sink Mode to 1, AVS Output Voltage to 240 (24000mV / 100mV) (though it's not indicated in the TPS26750 technical reference what the unit is), same with the AVS Output Current to 30 (3000mA / 100mA). These changes are not successful, I've had similar luck with the USBCPD Application Customization Tool, where the EPR_Sink_AVS_Controls tab seems broken as the AVS Operating Current field doesn't make sense.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm using the Apple 140W charger and a 240W cable, and have successfully requested AVS contracts with another sink. Thanks.

  • Hi Eli,

Can you share the .json file you have made?

Can you share a PD log of the failure?

The first issue I see is that the fixed PDOs should always be first, and the AVS PDO last, so you should swap the order of the PDOs 8 and 9.

Can you send a link for the Apple Charger? Are you sure it supports EPR AVS or is it potentially only SPR AVS/

    Thanks and Regards,

    Chris
