Hello TI Engineer,

LM2596 and LM34936 - Which IC is giving best resolution variation 10mV steps at output by using 16bit DAC?

Fixed input - 26V

Variable output - 10V to 24V using 16 bit DAC

Which one IC gives best resolution in 10mV steps changing in output?

As per my simulation, it seems LM34936 is better. could you please advise me if I am incorrect.

Hi Neel,

I would assume LM34936 is better based on the fact that it is a much new part. Your simulations seem to confirm this.

Hi Neel,

We usually do not test Vout step resolution as that is not a typical application. I would still recommend for you to use LM34936.

Hi Neel,

The only parameter you gave me was Vout resolution. Based on simulation, I suggested LM34936. If there is another parameter you care about, you can compare the 2 parts for that.
