TPS4H160-Q1: Drive multiple loads from 12V car battery

Tool/software:

Can TPS4H160-Q1 be directly connected to car battery as Vin to drive loads? Will power surges cause issues? We plan to use following schematic between car battery and TPS4H160. The loads are mostly detection/trigger wires like ACC, REV, ILL for car head units which draws less than 200mA. Are there better IC more suitable for the application?

Hi Wei,

Yes, you can connect it directly; our devices are designed to work with 12V battery systems. We test towards ISO 7638 standards for automotive power systems but is there any specific condition you are worried about?

If battery power is not an issue, then main question is if there is lower cost alternatives, for our load current draw is relatively small.

The TPS4H000-Q1 with a 1Ω on-state resistance could be a better option.
