Hello,

1. What are best performing products for a fuel gauge for Lead Acid Battery, that can estimate battery capacity without temperature information?
For a 12V lead acid car battery.

2. How accurate are they are estimating the capacity of batteries, across different operatining temperatures and battery ages?

3. How quickly can they determine the battery capacity?
- How many charging and discharging cycles are needed before the product can make a meaningful estimate, even if this estimate is refined over time?

Hi,

1) All TI gauges require accurate temperature readings to estimate SOC effectively.

2) hard to say

3) With a temperature reading 1 cycle, not sure how accurate the gauge will be without temperature readings.

Hello Diego,

Thank you for your responses.

1. "to estimate SOC effectively." I only need to estimate battery capacity not SOC. Unless I'm mistaken and these are the same metric.

Hi,

SOC is a function of remaining capacity therefore it will struggle to do both.
