TPS3808E-Q1: Manual reset interval for TPS3808E-Q1

Part Number: TPS3808E-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am designing reset circuit using the TPS3808E-Q1.
To set the reset time of this reset circuit to approximately 10 seconds, connect a 1.65μF capacitor to the CT pin.
This reset circuit uses a manual reset (MR pin) in addition to the power-on reset / reset via the voltage monitor on the SENSE pin.
When resetting frequently using manual reset, I would like to confirm whether the charge stored in the capacitor on the CT pin needs to be completely discharged in order to ensure a reset time of 10 seconds.
If the charge needs to be completely discharged, please tell me the formula to calculate the discharge time.
I will set the manual reset interval taking this discharge time into account.

  • Hi MESH,

The MR pulse just needs to be greater than the MR glitch immunity for the RESET assertion, but I would recommend the MR pulse to be closer to the propagation delay of the MR.

When resetting frequently using manual reset

Are you planning on toggling the MR pin while RESET is asserted?

  • Hi  Jesse,

    Thank you for your reply.

Are you planning on toggling the MR pin while RESET is asserted?

No. My plan is to enter a manual reset (MR) while RESET is deasserted.

I will design this reset circuit and instruction of reset circuit based on your reply.
