Can you please tell what is the duration for the current limit to detect the threshold and to initiate the turning off of HSS?

Hi Sri,

The current limit typically engages within an order of microseconds in the case of short-to-ground or high inrush currents. Could you please let us know how you are producing the 12A in the load? Is it an e-load? Also, what is the ILIM resistor value?

Hi Rishika,

Electronic load is used. ILIM is 13.3kohm.

One point:

1)When we short to GND, we see the initiation of turn-off within few microseconds.

2)When i slowly increase current in steps, it is taking  ~3.5ms to start the turn-off

Hi Sri,

Can you please try changing the e-load and instead of using it in constant current mode, use constant resistance mode? Also, the following calculation tool -https://www.ti.com/tool/download/SLVRBG2 using the RLIM and tolerance values can help calculate the approximate current limit range.
