UCC57108: No reset Pin

Part Number: UCC57108

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have a query about your gate driver (UCC57108). I checked, and there is no reset pin; how do I reset the gate drive when it goes into desat?

Regards,

Ikenna

  • Hey Ikenna,

Thank you for reaching out with your question regarding the UCC57108.

The desat feature and its operation are described in the below Application Brief in the Desaturation Protection section.

    Application and Benefits of UCC5710x-Q1

Let me know if there are further questions.

    Thank you,

    William Moore

  • Hello William,

Thank you so much, this is quite helpful. Another question: can I use this gate drive to operate four FETs in parallel? Will the desat function properly when linked to four MOSFETs in parallel?

I was wondering if you still have the gate drive in stock because it was shown as unavailable.

    Regards,

    Ikenna.

  • Hey Ikenna,

You can use this driver to operate four FETs in parallel and still utilize the DESAT function. If the FETs are close together, you will not need to include an additional DESAT diode. If they are not close together, you do not want to have long traces coming off of the drain node so you would include an additional DESAT diode similar to that seen below.

Looking at TI.com, this driver is in stock and available. This is a new part and so we are building inventory but it is available.

    Thank you,

    William Moore
