TPS25751EVM: Setup with BQ25798EVM

Tool/software:

I am using the TPS25751EVM in conjunction with the BQ25798EVM to simulate a battery charging application.

I have completed the hardware and software(USBCPD_Application_Customization_Tool) setup and flashed the TPS25751EVM, but the charging voltage I set is not generated.

Do I need to also flash any settings to the BQ25798EVM using BQstudio?

    Thank you for reaching out!

    Could you please share the .json file? What is the battery cell count and desired charge voltage? 

    The TPS25751 has integrated I2C control for the BQ25798 so you will not need BQstudio to control the BQ.

    Hi Kondo, 

    You do not need to flash any additional settings using the BQstudio, TPS25751 will automatically configure BQ25798 when booted up based on what was inputted for the battery charger configuration in the questionnaire section of the GUI.

    Hi Aya san,

    The number of cells is 2 and the charging voltage is 8.2V.

    When I checked the voltage on the TPS25751EVM using a DMM, VBUS was 9V, but PPHV was 0V.

    I think the internal FET is probably turned off. What could be the cause?

    I followed the user guide to set up the hardware.

    Hi Kondo-san,

    Thank you for providing the JSON, there is a known issue in the USBCPD v1.0.1 where a sink only PD+BQ config will disable PPHV, this issue has been addressed and will be resolved in the next release of the USBCPD Application Customization Tool. 

    For now I've attached a full flash binary based on your JSON with a temporary fix to bypass this issue, let me know if this resolves your issue or if you need a different image file type.
