Hi Ti Team,

We are developing are project with Intel ARL-H+HBR retimer+TPS65994BH, and when we configure PD FW, we set GPIO1 to "Retimer_Force_PWR_Event_Port1" , but it can't output high to turn on retimer power, could you help to check the GPIO configure is right or not ,thanks.

Hi,

Can you try disable the internal pull down and pull up and see if it helps?

It can output high after I plug in type-c device, if type-C port have no connecting, it will output low, thanks

Another question, currently in our schematic design, ADCIN1 tie to LDO_3V3, Decode is 7, ADCIN2 tie to GND, Decode is 0, please help to check if the I2C adrress is correct , I2C1 address for EC is 0x20(portA) and 0x2C(PortB), I2C2 address is 0x38(portA) and 0x3F(portB), thanks.

This is the expected behavior.

I2C1 is correct. The ADCINx value will only affect the I2C2 address when device is in PTCH or BOOT mode. Once the Appconfig is loaded the I2C address will change to 0x38/0x3F like what you have set in your screenshot.

Hi,

This depends on how the PDFW will be loaded. If you use an EEPROM then both options can be used. If you are loading FW from EC and in dead battery mode EC needs power from VBUS, you can only use the AlwaysEnableSink option.

If I want to delete EEPROM, the PD FW need to be configure by EC? when in dead battery mode, EC need write FW configure to PD?

And we meet a problem now, in dead battery mode, plug in Type-C adaptor, PD always in PATCH mode, adaptor only output 5V, can't output 20V, could you give some advice?

Hi,

That means the FW is not loaded to PD. Are you storing the PDFW in a EEPROM or EC is updating the EEPROM?

Hi,

If you want to use EC to update PD, if will want to follow the flow chart in this zip file. There are example I2C transaction logs in the folder too. 0550.PBMx.zip

Please keep in mind that this update process needs to be performed every time if PD lost power.
