Hello,

In my 4S battery charger design, I am using the BQ7791500 IC and a PMOS charger FET as described in the datasheet.

Could you suggest suitable PMOS, NPN, and NMOS components for this design?

Hello Luis,

I don’t have extensive experience in circuit design. Could you explain how to select a suitable MOSFET and NPN transistor for this application.

I am designing circuit for 3.7v nominal 4S Li-Ion battery.

Hello Sourav,

You would chose a power P-Channel MOSFET, that is able to handle the currents that you expect, ideally it will have as low of an Rdson as possible to minimize losses and thermal dissipation on the MOSFET.

The NPN should be able to handle the current as the MOSFET turns-off, which likely would be in the mA range and should be rated high enough that it will not break during normal operation, 40-V should be okay.
