TPS92613-Q1: LED Driver for UV LED Source

Part Number: TPS92613-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi,

We are currently working on the UV-based project. Based on that, we've identified an LED source with a radiant flux capacity of 1.3W. We are considering the TPS92613-Q1 LED driver from your website and would like to know if it would be feasible to connect two of these drivers in parallel (at 0.6A each) to drive this LED source effectively.

If this configuration is not suitable, could you please recommend an alternative LED driver that can handle the 1.3W?

Regards,

Ramkumar R

  • Hello Ramkumar,

We generally need to know more design parameters before we can recommend an appropriate solution.

    • Please give us more information about the load.  Do you have a datasheet?  What is the Vf of the UV LED at the desired output current?
    • What is the input voltage?  Please give min, typ, and max specifications.
    • How many LEDs are you planning to use and what is their configuration?  series? parallel?  combination of series and parallel?
    • What is the output current range?
    • How are you planning to do dimming?  Analog, PWM?  Shunt Fet dimming???  If PWM or shunt fet dimming what is the dimming frequency and the duty cycle range?
    • Do you have other constraints?  Space?  Thermal?  Cost? EMI/EMC requirements? If so, what is the standards you are trying to achieve?
