We are planning to use the fuel gauge BQ27546YZFR-G1, we are having 3 cell battery pack which we need to connect to the main board and to measure the battery percentage we need to connect the BQ27546YZFR-G1 fuel gauge

So kindly let us know if we can BQ27546YZFR-G1 fuel gauge over 3 cell battery pack and how we can use this.

Hello Udesh,

The BQ27546-G1 is a single cell gauge, so you will not be able to connect 3 cells to this gauge. You should use the BQ40z50 if you want a gauge that can support 3 cells. https://www.ti.com/product/BQ40Z50

In BQ40z50 we need to connect the individual cell across the fuel gauge, but I have the readymade 3 cell battery pack which is provide the output of 9-12.6V for which I need to connect the fuel gauge, so kindly check and help to suggest the suitable part

Hello Udesh,

If you don't have access to each individual cell voltage then you will need a top of stack gauge. I would recommend the BQ34z100. https://www.ti.com/product/BQ34Z100

If we will use BQ27546YZFR-G1 and can connect the voltage by using the voltage divider, will it work ?

Hello Udesh,

I have not heard any customers using that work around for a single cell gauge and I would highly advise against that. This could greatly impact gauge accuracy.
