Hell Prema Perumal,
Thank you for reaching out to our team on E2E.
The TPSI3050S-Q1 features a one-shot enable for the switch control. This feature is useful for driving SCRs that typically require only one pulse of current to trigger. The TPSI3050S-Q1 only operates in 3-wire mode.
If you are interested in evaluating the TPSI3052S-Q1, samples can be found here.

We are designing a circuit to drive a bidirectional MOSFET. Do both TPSI3050QDWZRQ1 and TPSI3050SQDWZRQ1 support two-wire and three-wire configurations?
Prema Perumal,
The TPSI3050SQDWZRQ1 does not support two-wire configurations; it must be configured in three-wire mode.
The TPSI3050QDWZRQ1 supports both two-wire and three-wire configurations.
When you finish designing your circuit, we would be happy to review your schematic.

Hi Jack,
thanks for your reply,
I have configured it in two-wire mode by default and will only enable three-wire mode when needed. The final design schematic is attached below; please review and share any concerns.
Prema Perumal,
My only concern is that in three-wire mode, the EN pin can only accept up to 5.5V without damage to the device. Based on your schematic, +12V will be present at all times on EN, even in three-wire mode.
Other than that you schematic looks good. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Jack Hemmersmeier
Hi jack,
The three-wire mode is enabled only through the GPIO and does not connect to 12V. The 12V supply is connected through a relay, Relay is not populated (DNP) when the three-wire mode is required
Prema Perumal,
If that is the case, I have no other concerns with your schematic.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or face any issues.
Regards,
Jack Hemmersmeier
