UCC28950: The output is interrupted during the electrical aging test.

Part Number: UCC28950

Tool/software:

Hi E2E,

During our design by using the UCC28950PWR, we noticed that the output of IC would abnormally shut down after several minutes of electrical aging.

The interruption occurred for a few seconds ,and it will be automatically restarting and operating normally.

We did the ABA test and found that the fault followed the IC in a sporadic manner. We also tried it in different laboratories, but the results is the same.
Here is the SCH:

We have captured the scope as follows:

Green is for CS, Red is for drive voltage, Blue is for SS, and Yellow is for output voltage.

We suspect that there are some problems in Hiccup mode, but we cannot accurately determine the cause.
Please help to provide improvement ideas, thank you!

  • Tommy,

Can you clarify the pin name of the red waveform? Also, when you say the fault follows ICs in ABA test, how many faulty ICs have you observed? Sounds like there are ICs that do have this behavior as well?

    Thanks
