Hi Experts,
Here is our DC-DC power supply designed based on UCC38C41. Could you please help us check if there are any design issues? Also, do you have any suggestions for the transformer design? Thank you very much~
Design requirement: Input DC 20-150V, output DC 12V 3A
Best Regards
Hi,
- R2 and R8 are with 0402 package, it looks its power rating is not enough, since it looks each resistor may need > 0.5W when Vin = 150V
- Also check R3 and R4 snubber resistors with 0402 which also seems power rating not enough - I did not estimate the power and this is based on my experience.
- The transformer design is ok to use any design methods. The datasheet has the application section to help the design example. Also, you can refer to the below link for general transformer design:
http://focus.ti.com/docs/training/catalog/events/event.jhtml?sku=SEM401001
In general, we get the transformer turns ratios, voltages, and power, then get the transformer vendors to help design a physical transformer. I think you can follow this path. If you want to design the transformer yourself, we can only help to some extent but we are not experts on transformer design particularly for products.
