TPS22916: Two Switch in Parallel for 3.5A max

Is it possible to use 2 x TPS22916 in parallel to switch 5.2V with 3.5A max current? If yes, is there anything I should be extra careful here?

Hi Ser,

Yes, it is possible to do this. You need to be careful in turning on both the devices together (i.e. one device should not see more than 2A continuous current)

Thank you for the reply. How about the variation on the Ron resistance? I believe the variation on production will change how the current may be distributed. How can I make sure that none of the switches will have more than 2A?

Hi Ser,

The variation between the Ron from device to device won't cause that much difference. Here your total current is 3.5A and with two devices you can support up to 4A current.
