TPS3851: RESET operation issue

Part Number: TPS3851

Tool/software:

Hello, experts,

The current circuit is designed as below diagram. During the test, TP92 and TP90 are connected to 3.3V and pull-up resistor respectively. To test the RESET function, we are constantly applying LOW signals to the WDI during the test, and CWD and SET1 are maintaining HIGH. However, if there is no pulse change in the WDI, the WDO should be changed from HIGH to LOW, but it is currently maintaining HIGH. Also, the RESET pin is continuously showing LOW status. It seems like there is some problem with the RESET being continuously low, but I haven't figured out the cause. As a novice developer, I am lacking in many areas and need the help of experts like you.
Please give me an answer on how to modify it.

Thank you very much for your help.

  • Hi Sungmin,

Can you make sure that the RESET pin is pulled up through a 10kOhm resistor. Also for the RST_CWD net I would remove C78 if you are not using the adjustable capacitor selection timing. Also ensure that you have enough current 19uA or greater to properly power the device.

Test conditions should be: VDD connected 3.3V, CWD pulled up to 3.3V via 10Kohm, MR floating or pulled high to 3.3V via 10kOhm, SET1 pulled high to 3.3V via 100kOhm, WDI pulled low/floating, WDO pulled to 3.3V via 10kOhm, RESET pulled to 3.3V via 10kOhm.

    Thanks,
    Joshua
