LM317L-N:Resistor R2 not installed

I am using resistors R1 = 240Ω and R2 = 2kΩ (resistor connected between the adj terminal and GND) so that the input voltage is 15V and the output voltage is 12V.

Question 1) R2 was unintentionally left uninstalled. Will this damage the LM317LZ/NOPB?

Question 2) With R2 not installed, the output is about 13.5V. Will the output voltage become unstable if R2 is not installed?

Thank you for your questions.

1) With R2 being left uninstalled, the device will not be able to regulate to the output voltage that is desired ~15V.

2) Leaving R2 not installed should not cause damage to the device, but the output voltage will not be the desired output voltage.
