BQ4050: Leakage current in sleep mode & total runtime problem

Part Number: BQ4050
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z50,

Tool/software:

I have some problems during I choosing the IC ,so there're the questions I am confused.

1. What is the leakage current/power when the charging mosfet is opened in sleep mode?

I see in the IC specs that the leakage current , which is in sleep mode , is tested when the charging tubes are off. Then I look in the guide, it says I can set " FET Options[SLEEPCHG] = 1"  to set the charge mosfet open in sleep mode.

I would also like to know if I could decrease the leakage current in sleep mode by using BQ40z50 instead of BQ4050?

2.Does the total runtime recorded by the IC,  time the wake up/sleep/shutdown modes separately?

Will these timing records be reset after the IC shutdown/reset?

Thanks for your reading my questions and hope to hear from you soon.

  • Hello,

I do not believe we have this configuration specified in the datasheet, however I believe it would be greater than the 75uA sleep option specified since it includes the CHG FET. This can be confirmed through testing.

Regarding the bq40z50, I believe that this would have the same value (below is bq40z50):

2.Does the total runtime recorded by the IC,  time the wake up/sleep/shutdown modes separately?

Will these timing records be reset after the IC shutdown/reset?

Since the Total Firmware Runtime is collected in the Lifetime parameters, I believe it follows the same set of rules for collection found below:
