Tool/software:
In TPS4H160-Q1, as per datasheet the recommended DC current limit is 2.5A.
Is this 2.5A is for each channel?
What is absolute max DC current limit? Any limit for transient currents?

Hi Abhishek,
The recommended load current is for each/one channel. So, each channel ideally can handle 2.5A but because of mutual heating (if one FET is on, the other experiences a slight temperature change) if all four channels are being used, it will probably be around 2A.
The absolute maximum DC current limit range is from 0.25-7A depending on the current limit resistor. This accounts for transient current as the current will not exceed that limit either as it would be clamped at the limit.

Thanks for reply.
You said around 2A if all four channels are used.
So, at max ambient temperature (w.r.t. datasheet at 125 deg C) how much will be the precise max current?
Hi Abhishek,
There are various factors that can affect the max current such as layout, copper coverage, thermal pours, etc. so we cannot provide a more precise max value than the 2.5A given in the datasheet with the device operating under the ambient temperature range.
