LM7480-Q1: Bi directional current

Part Number: LM7480-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM74502H-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi,

I want to use LM74801 to power mux 2 batteries but also allow it to conduct reverse current from my load (motor).

The DS states that LM74801 allows bi-directional current if the C pin is left disconnected but in that case how will the FET connected to the ideal diode turn on during normal conduction?

I thought the FET needs to sense the voltage between the A and C pin and once the body diode conducts and the internal comparator measures the voltage drop the driver will turn the FET ON. Without C connected how will this work?
