TPSM560R6H: Required minimum output capacitance for load current of 60mA

As per the datasheet , we need to place at least 22uF to 25uF for 10V output voltage. We have a constraint on the board space and cannot accommodate more capacitors.

Can you please suggest us the minimum output capacitance we can go which does not impact stability , transient response and other parameters ?

Also if you have any ESR requirement for the capacitors , please let us know.

Hi,

The minimum output capacitance mentioned in the datasheet is the effective capacitance. So you will have to ensure that the effective capacitance of your selected capacitor is higher than 25uF at a DC bias of 10V. Use the DC bias characteristic curve shown in the manufacturer's datasheet to ensure this. It is recommended to use a ceramic capacitance for it's low ESR.

Also, note that the minimum value mentioned is only for stability consideration. Additional capacitance can be added to improve transient response and reduce output ripple.

Yes, minimum of 25uF should be ensured
