Hi, TI expert.

The customer is currently using BQ28Z610-R1 for the Battery Pack PCM of the PDA.

Currently looking at BQ27220 & BQ27Z746 & BQ27546-G1 for cost down purposes, and has a question.

When compared to BQ28Z610-R1, when using BQ27220 & BQ27Z746 & BQ27546-G1 can you explain the limitations or disadvantages, etc.?

Please check. Thank you.

  • Hello,

The BQ27z746 is going to be very similar to the BQ28z610-R1 with the major difference being that it only supports single cell applications whereas the BQ28z610-R1 supports single cell and 2 cell applications. Another difference is that the iq on the BQ27z746 is going to be lower.

The BQ27220 gauge is very different from the BQ28z610-R1, this gauge does not use the same patented Impedance Track algorithm, and does not have internal protections.

Another option is to look at the BQ27z558/ BQ27z561-R2. These gauges are very similar to the BQ27z746, just without the integrated protections.

    Regards,

    Robert.
