Part Number: UCC28950
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28951,

Tool/software:

Hello,

In the document titled SLUA560D: UCC28950/UCC28951 600-W, Phase-Shifted, Full-Bridge Application Note, how do the transformer calculation formulas change if a full-bridge rectification method is used instead of a synchronous rectifier in the output rectification stage?

Thank you,
Can

  • Hello,

Your inquiry has been received and is under review.

  • Hello,

The turns ratio of the transformer and primary peak and RMS currents will be correct for the transformer design in question.

The peak current on the secondary winding will be the correct, but the output RMS current estimation for the single secondary winding will not be correct.  The secondary RMS current will be 2 times what the application note predicts.
