For reverse battery protection, the datasheet shows in Figure 21 that a diode is recommended at GND pin to block reverse current that could potentially damage the system.
In my application, I use TPS2124 with following Reverse Battery Protection mechanism where I do not have diode on GND but have PMOS Q1 on Input. This is in a way same as datasheet recommendation such that it block reverse current.
When Reverse Battery was applied, there was no current draw from battery & voltage observed across ESD diode was 0.2V (in blue). Kindly share if you see any risk of damage to TPS2124 as per my circuit.
