BQ25713: IBAT and IADPT pin are not able to read

Hello,

We are charging 1S battery via 5V/2A adapter, it's charging very well and current is 0.5A on the cable. however when we measure IBAT and IADPT, it returns 0x00.

CHRG_OK is high

ChargeOption_1 [15] (EN_IBAT) = 1

ChargeOption_2 [6] (IBAT_SEL) = 1

ADC_Option [2] (EN_ADC_ICHG) = 1

ADC_Option [14] (ADC_START) = 1

RSR = 10mΩ and set ChargeOption_1[10] = 0

RAC = 10mΩ and set ChargeOption_1[11] = 0

I've measured IBAT/IADPT pin via oscilloscope;

When POR, IBAT -> Vmax: 0.40V, Vave: 0.1V

After continuous -> 0.1V or 0.0V

Circuit are as EVM spec.

Is there any advice about that?

The register settings look fine. Could you try to measure higher current?

I've measured with 2.3A but its not changed, still 0x00

This is weird. We can see results on EVM. Please try to follow below steps.

Steps:

1. Enable each channel in ADC_Options

2. Set ADC_START=1

3. Read above ADC registers.

Hi Tiger,

We applied this but it still showing 0.

Via ADC, Voltage reads are success but current reads are not.

Do you have another advice about that?

Suggest resetting your whole register map and trying to enable ADC function fresh.

Hi Tiger,

I've tried this but result's still same.

Also I would like to say that MaxChargeCurrent is not working too(just when I arrange the register value as 0x00, it will be stopped and when I arrange 0x0040 or above, it will be charged up to 2.5A, its like turn on charger, turn off charger not like current limit setting). Example; I have arranged ChargeCurrent as 500mA and IIN_HOST as 1000mA (when I check register of IIN_ DPM is 1000mA), also I activated ILIM but it's cannot limit to current too, it goes 2.5A.

May the limit current issue related about read current on ADC?
