BQ27742-G1: BQ27541-V200 SOC jump from 0% to about 6% after stop discharging

Part Number: BQ27742-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27541-V200

Tool/software:

BQ27541-V200 FCC update during charge and discharge, which cause the SOC jump  from 0% to about 6% after stop dischargingCK67 TER VOLTAGE 3200 1109.log

  • This is either a mismatch in ChemID, a mismatch with Qmax or a problem with how the gauge handles transient response for this particular battery (ResRelaxTime is too long).

    Please check all three parameters.

  • The chemID is correct , this time we only change the terminal voltage from 3V to 3.2V, it didn't performed like that  before update this value, does it related to the performance?

  • The gauge underestimates capacity if you set this to 3.2V (it hits 0% SOC before voltage drops below TV). At start of charge, after relax, the gauge reduces cell resistance using ResRelaxTime as the time constant. This will unlock capacity and lead to the SOC jump. This effect depends on Terminate Voltage.

Please set ResRelaxTime to 5 seconds and try again.
