Part Selection for BMS

Hi,

I have a customer using 4 21700 batteries in parallel to power their device, they need a BMS IC to regulate charging and discharging of the batteries. They need a BMS IC that can do battery level monitoring, charging regulation overvoltage protection and buck the system to 3.3V from 2.5V minimum battery output. Can you suggest a BMS IC and reference design for their application.

    Hi, Patrick,

    I am afraid that no single IC could fulfill your request. You will need two or three ICs for this battery management system. 

    For the charging IC, please list your requirements like:

    • Vin range:
    • Vbat voltage range and configuration:
    • Max IBAT current:
    • Max system load:
    • etc
