My customer is considering BQ25882 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

I am considering using it in the Typical Application connection described on page 68 of the datasheet.

When doing the thermal design, I think that the loss of this device must be calculated not only from the current consumption of the device itself, but also from the loss of the current passing through it during charging.

Could you please let us know how to calculate the total loss inside the device?

Hi Shinichi,

The charger is basically a boost DC-DC converter. Please refer to the paper below on the related equations.
