HI, I have some questions.

I want to use BQ40Z80.

Trying to read data to SMBus by connecting MCU to BQ40Z80.

 I want to read the data written below in real time. The application is a power tool(li-ion battery 5s2p 18v 8Ah).

  •   - cell voltage
  •   - charge/discharge current : 0~120A
  •   - cell temperature : -30 ~ 110 celsius
  •   - cycle counter
  •   - SoC : 0~100%(1% resolution)
  •   - SoH : 0~100%(1% resolution)

  Question 1) Can I read all the data listed above in the BQ40Z80 configuration?

  Question 2) Is it possible to adjust the scale factor and read the discharge current to 120A?

    Hello,

    •   - cell voltage = Yes
    •   - charge/discharge current : 0~120A = I believe this would need to be scaled and sense resistor changed to fit the specifications of the SRP/SRN pins.
    •   - cell temperature : -30 ~ 110 celsius = We cannot assure the functionality of the gauge once outside of the recommended operating temperatures listed in the datasheet.
    •   - cycle counter = Yes
    •   - SoC : 0~100%(1% resolution) = Yes
    •   - SoH : 0~100%(1% resolution) = Yes
