TPS2663: Some question about TPS2663

Part Number: TPS2663

Tool/software:

Hi Expert,

1.According to the specification, I_R123 needs to be greater than 2uA. This is to provide the leakage current requirements of UVLO and OVP. It cannot be too large to affect the input shunt. How is 2uA determined?

From datasheet, However, the leakage current due to external active components connected at resistor string can add error to these calculations. So, the resistor string current, I(R123) must be chosen to be 20x greater than the leakage current of UVLO and OVP pins.

Which one is correct?

2. The C (dtdv) capacitor is recommended to be a minimum of 10nF in the specification. The design document stipulates that it is 22nF. -> I would like to explain that in addition to affecting the slew rate and inrush, what is the reason for this restriction?

3.There are IEC 61000-4-2 Contact discharge ± 8KV requirements. Are there any recommended loop countermeasures (TVS or MOSFET? When TVS reverse collapse occurs, will the OVP action of the IC be triggered? Have you done any testing or how to evaluate it? ?)

Thanks!

  • Hello Jimmy,

1.For choosing UVLO and OVP resistor values, please prefer design calculator of TPS2663 available in product page.

    2. Device has internal dVdT cap. If you don't need additional slew rate control leave dVdT floating.

3.Device has ESD protection diode in each pin.

    Thanks

    Amrit
