UCC28730-Q1: Minimum On time requirement

Part Number: UCC28730-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi,

According to the datasheet, the minimum ON time of the MOSFET should be greater than t-csleb (leading edge blanking time).

For my application, the design calculator suggests ~700uH of primary inductance, but the corresponding min on time is 75ns which is less than t-csleb of 280ns.

Can I choose a higher inductance than the recommended one to match the minimum on time requirement?

The issue I am seeing with using higher inductance is increased leakage inductance.

Any recommendations on how to navigate this situation?

Thanks

  • Hello,

You can select more inductance for your design it is just going to reduce the maximum switching the converter can run at.

I would suggest keeping the maximum switching frequency above 38 kHz.  In this way you can use the full control law in your design.
