CSD19532Q5B: questions regarding unencrypted spice model

Part Number: CSD19532Q5B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Tool/software:

I want to use the unencrypted Spice model for CSD19532Q5B. There are 4 external pins identified for the model. 1,2,3,4. From the subcircuit 1=Drain, 2=Gate, 3=Source, 4=????. Where should pin 4 be connected in the circuit?

Thanks, Vernon

  • Hello Vernon,

Thanks for your interest in TI FETs. The CSD19532Q5B.lib file includes 4 subcircuits: cgs, cgd, cds, and CSD19532Q5B. The first 3 model the non-linear capacitances of the FET and are already connected within the CSD19532Q5B subcircuit. There is no need to connect those pins. There are only 3 pins for the FET subcircuit: 1 = D, 2 = G and 3 = S. This is standard for all TI discrete FET models. What circuit simulation tool are you using? When importing the model into other tools, it usually gives an option on which subcircuit to select for the model. For example, when using the new macro wizard in TINA-TI, it will recognize the different subcircuits and asks to select one from the list which should be CSD19532Q5B. I'm not familiar with how other tools do this.
