TPS61022: Device damaged with SW pin shorted with GND

Hi Sam,

what kinds of  damage ? Because I saw from the waveform the switching waveform is normal. Also about the spike, it's AC , could you zoom in to see the time duration during the high spike ?

About the layout , could you send me original file so it would be easier for me to have a whole picture and meticulous view of it?

the failure is the SW pin shorts with GND, in other words, the internal switching MOSFET was damaged, drain shorted to source.

however, the device is always damaged during testing.

I have looked into the layout. It's appropriately arranged and designed. And the switching node waveform is okay, I don't think that layout or spike that contributes to the damage.

but the device in our application was always damaged, could you give us any advice how to improve?

I have to saw from the schematic and layout point of view, all seems proper. I think maybe you should check the input or output distinguishment between good units and failed units.

Actually, we built 7 PCBAs, all them were damaged during testing, and all of them the SW pin shorted with GND.

Could you ship one of the board to me to test?

since all the board were damaged, what about to ship you a failed board?
