TPS923652: Quiescent/shutdown/disabled Vin current (data sheet unclear)

Part Number: TPS923652

Tool/software:

I am designing a device that is battery operated, and would benefit from a very low "device disabled" current.

The data sheet for TPS923652 states:

7.5 Electrical Characteristics

| ISD   |  Shut down current from VIN               |  VIN = 12 V, VEN/PWM = 0 V, device disabled  |  0.8 2.3 µA |

| IOFF |  PWM off quiesent current from VIN   |  VIN = 12 V, VEN/PWM = 0 V, device enabled  |       2.5 mA |

But there is no mention of "shut down" or "device disabled" in the data sheet to explain how to force the device into this mode.

My question is simply: can the device be forced into "shut down"/"device disabled" mode, with the associated <2.3 µA Vin current. And if so, how is this done?

Thank you in advance,

Morten

  • Hi Morten,

When TPS923652 is enabled, pulling EN/PWM pin to low with a period longer than t_PWM_IN_OFF (You can find this parameter in Section 7.5 Electrical Characteristics from the datasheet) will disable the device.

    Best Regards,

    Steven
