TPS23861: Behavior without cable connection

Hi team,

I received a question from customer. Please support.

If this IC and other TI PSE controller ICs are set to Auto mode, does it repeat the detection cycle even when not connected to a PD?

Or, the device start the detection cycle when it detect a voltage at DRAINn-pin or so?

    Thanks for reaching out!

    Yes if TPS23861 is set at auto mode and all enable pins are set (like RESET), it will continuously send the detection signal to try to confirm if a valid PD is connected. Even this port is open.
