Hello,

My customer got simulation results like the attached file below through TI WEBENCH Tool.

TPS65400_12VIN_0.9VO(2.4A)_1.2VO(2A)_2.1VO(1.6)_2.1VO(0.8A).pdf

According to the report, the overall efficiency for their usage conditions is 90.568%.

However, the efficiency for similar conditions in the data sheet is below 90%, and in some cases even below 80%.

When a user uses the TPS65400, what efficiency information is valid for practical design?

Hi JH,

For the efficiency result, were they based on same test condition? If yes, you can first refer to the efficiency result show in the datasheet which is tested with EVM board. Thank you!

Comparison of the efficiency of TPS65400 using simulation tools and datasets under similar conditions shows significant differences.
- Simulation Tool efficiency = 92.2%
- Datasheet Efficiency = 79% (Buck1)/82% (Buck2)/84% (Buck3)/81% (Buck4)
Which one is more reliable?
What causes the difference?
I attached the simulation result (tps65400_simulation_tool_Result) and the efficiency based on the data sheet (tps65400_DS_efficacy_Result), so please refer to it and review it.

Hi Inho,

I reviewed the Webench result and looks like it's not accurate. If you need to evaluate efficiency performance, pls refer to datasheet results. It's measured result with out EVM board. Thank you!
