UCC14141-Q1: Output is not coming during power-up

Hi Team, 

We are using UCC14141-Q1 for gate driver power supply with +15V and -9V.

On power-up with EN and PG pins 5V & Vin as 12V, we are not able to get the output across any of Vdd to Vee or Vdd to COM or COM to Vee.

RLIM value is 1k ohm.

Vdd to COM capacitor is 10uF.

COM to Vee capacitor is also 10uF.

What could be the issue?

    -Firstly, could you please share your schematic and layout to be reviewed?

    -Secondly, did you use the Design Calculator from UCC14141-Q1 product folder (link below) to design your BOM components/Schematic around the device? If not, please do.

    -Thirdly, could you please start-up waveforms of the device? Please show, (VINP-GNDP), (VDD-VEE), (COM-VEE), (PG-GNDP). Similar liket he startup waveform shown below. We need to check if any Fault is triggered during the startup.

    -Finally, (VDD-COM) and (COM-VEE) gate driver caps should be in the ratio od of (COM-VEE) and (VDD-COM) respectively in order to charge balance the caps and avoid any unbalance at the COM net. According to your gate driver voltages (VDD-COM)/(COM-VEE)=5/3, then the caps should be (VDD-COM)/(COM-VEE)=3/5. If you are using 10uF for (VDD-COM) cap, (VEE-COM) should be around ~17uF. That is why using the Design Calculator is important. Be aware of the voltage de-rate of the caps. A voltage rating of 3x the working voltage is recommended to minimize DC bias de-rate. Please, send me your Design Calculator to be reviewed.

    Thank you for the pointers.

    Looks like the capacitor ratio is not correct in our design.

    In the calculator also your suggested values are coming up.

    Since this is a customer project, unfortunately I will not be able to share the schematics or layout in public forum.
