TPS22916: Back side coat version

Hi team,

Customer meet TPS22916 package broken issue in their smart band design. They find the TPS22916B package is easy to broken, while SGM2575 get back side coating, so it's not easy to broken.

Do we get back side coating version TPS22916BYFPR for customer to use?

Hi Will,

We checked on this. here are my findings.

TPS22916 do not have backside coating option.
https://www.edn.com/dangers-lurking-below-wcsp-backside-coatings/ Here is an article by TI PE few years ago about the Wcsp package (also have information on the back side coating's primary purpose and the reason for removal of it)
These wafer scale chip packages are very sensitive to how they are handled. Mostly the handling causes these chip cracks.
