BQ76952: How to perform selective OTP using bqStudio

Part Number: BQ76952
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Tool/software:

Hi,

Is there a way to perform OTP for the data memory registers of my choice?

Or is it that when I press the "Program Data Memory to OTP Memory" button on bqStudio all values of the data memory registers will get written to the OTP memory?

I thought the following thread might be relevant, but wanted to double-check.

Thank you,

Kyungjae Lee

  • Hello Kyungjae,

Or is it that when I press the "Program Data Memory to OTP Memory" button on bqStudio all values of the data memory registers will get written to the OTP memory?

Yes, that is correct. As mentioned in the previous forum you found, all the data memory registers that have been modified will get written to OTP memory and will use one of the eight signatures.

  • Thank you for confirming Alexis,

I see when I first open the bqStudio, not all data memory register values that appear on the "Data Memory" window seem to reflect what's actually stored in the actual data memory registers until you press the "Read All" button.

To make sure that I OTP program only the registers I have changed, shall I "Read All" first to make sure all the values on the "Data Memory" window are refreshed, change the value I want to OTP program, and then perform the OTP programming?

    Thank you,

    Kyungjae

Yes, that would be a good idea to make sure every register has been updated to show what has been changed.
