BQ27220: How BQ27220 can be commanded to come out of SHUTDOWN

Part Number: BQ27220

Tool/software:

In our design, we are using the BQ27220 as a fuel gauge, and the GPOUT pin is connected to the host through a 10k pull-up resistor (as per the datasheet). I need to know how the BQ27220 can be commanded to come out of SHUTDOWN mode, given that the GPOUT pin is configured as an output. Our design schematic is attached.

  • Hello,

The only way to wake the gauge from shutdown mode is to toggle GPOUT. So if you have GPOUT connected to a GPIO, then all you will need to do to wake the gauge from shutdown mode is to have an MCU toggle the pin.

    Regards,

    Jonny.
