TPS92682-Q1: CV BOOST configuration during SPI loss

Part Number: TPS92682-Q1

Tool/software:

a) During the Normal Operation Mode when there is SPI loss between CV BOOST and Microcontroller, whether the CV BOOST can able to still maintain the Output? and CV BOOST Register values will be default values or last values before SPI loss?

b) For the Corrupted or Invalid SPI Message, whether CV BOOST can maintain the Output or the Microcontroller should enable LH to high to enter into Limp Home Mode?

  • Hi Girinath,

The expert is out of office due to the thanksgiving holiday, and will get back to you later, thanks for your understanding.

  • Hi Girinath,

Sorry for the delay, as Hailee mentioned, our US offices were closed for Thanksgiving.

    a) The TPS92682-Q1 will still be operational and will be able to maintain the desired output as long as LH (Limp Home) related registers are configured properly .

Please review pages 47-51 of the TPS92682-Q1 data sheet for more information:

    b) In order to enable LH mode, you must set it to high

    Best,
    Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

    Thanks for your feedback.

Regarding the Question (a) whether the MCU shall set LH pin to High when there is SPI loss detected or BOOST is having capability to maintain the output without LH pin setting?

    Regards

    Girinath K

  • - The correct way to ensure the device maintains the configured output is to set up your LH registers and then enable LH. To directly answer your question, if there is a loss in communication, the device will continue to operate unless otherwise instructed
