Dears,

    Customer want to use UCC28600 for 330-550VAC input,24V/3.5A output, The customer is concerned that the user may accidentally connect 900VAC and is considering a universal 200-1000VDC input design. So the customer used a 1700V SIC mosft.Could you please help review  the schematic  and transformer design parameters are reasonable? thank you!

    Hello,

    I reviewed the schematic and functionally it looks correct.  You can use the excel calculator to check the design.

    If the customer is worried the customer is going to connect it to 900 V AC the input over voltage protection may not be enough to protect the design.  I would recommend using a separate hysteretic comparator to disable power to the UCC28600 if the input voltage is greater than 550 V AC * 1.2.
