TPS61289: Regarding DCDC converter application note or design reference

Part Number: TPS61289

Tool/software:

Dear TI Team,

I need a DCDC converter having variable output from inverting to Non inverting in Forward direction,

i.e. Possibility of variable output voltage from -10 V to +10 V.

Please see below specs;

1. Input voltage: 15 to 20 Volts

2. Output voltage: Variable output from -10 Volt to +10 Volt

3. Power rating: nearly 100 Watts

Can you please suggest if any similar application note/ reference design of TI is available?

Thanks & Regards,

CS

  • Hi CS,

It seems no similar application like this before.

    1. the power is quite large, and this is like a controller or MCU solution.

    2. Here are two solutions:

one is to generate variable 10V and -10V separately and switch the output with demand.

another is to generate -10V rail first, then to use the -10V as the 'GND' of a new buck, this buck generates from input 20+10V to (20V to 0V which is 10V to -10V refer to GND).

There could be more solution when using MCU and transformer (inverter maybe?).

I will reach out to Buck team for more suggestions.

Looking forward getting more ideas from you.

    Best Regards,

    Fergus
