BQ40Z80EVM-020: How to clear all the protections applied.

Part Number: BQ40Z80EVM-020
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Tool/software:

The IC from EVM was replaced as it was damaged. Got suggestion from the forum that it should be replaced, replaced it it was detecting initially when pressing WAKE button, as the FUSE was getting triggered, and at the PACK voltage was showing 3-4V. But now, If I press LED Display the bq is detecting in bqstudio and FUSE is enabled always and it shows as FD which means Fully DIscharged and other protections are enabled. I want to clear all these so that FET gets toggled.

  • Hello,

If resetting the gauge does not clear the protections, this means that they are immediately becoming triggered once the gauge enters normal mode. If this is the case, you will have to adjust the gauge settings for each of the protections. Also, please ensure the DA Configuration is configured to represent the proper amount of cells in use, since this could cause protections to trigger.

    Regards,

    Anthony
