TPS61033: Short Circuit

Part Number: TPS61033

Tool/software:

I designed a board with the TPS61033 to power a GSM modem and a microcontroller. I used feedback resistors to achieve an output of 5.2V. The only difference is the inductor, which is slightly larger (3.3uH). At low current consumption, the circuit works fine. However, as soon as I turn on the GSM, which increases the current draw, the IC shorts out, and I have to replace it. I've replaced 10 of them and also tried using a 2.5uH inductor. The PCB is designed according to the layout recommendations in the datasheet. I have a 22uF polyester capacitor at the input and two 22uF polyester capacitors at the output. Could the slightly larger inductor be causing the internal MOSFET in the TPS to fail?
