the number of cells using BQ25886

Part Number: BQ25886

Tool/software:

Hi,

Using the charging IC chip BQ25886 , the datasheet describes that it is designed for charging 2 cells, and the charging voltage can be 8.4V,as we know that 2 lithium batteries are connected in series to reach 8.4V, so does this chip have any requirements for the number of batteries in parallel? Does 2cells  mean two in series or strictly speaking, it can only be charged two cells ?and what if there are a few more? For example, two series and two parallels, the voltage is still 8.4V, but the number of batteries is 4, can it still be used? Looking forward to reply。
