Hi, Are you referring to external or internal PWM?
Both.
What is the range of frequencies of an applied PWM signal allowed?
What is the generated PWM frequency of the generated PWM with an analog signal applied?
Is there a recommended maximum ratio for PWM frequency to the switching frequency of the Gate?
Thanks!
Hi David,
If you can help me understand your end application, I can better assist you. We can also move this to a private email thread if NDA restrictions limit the information you can share.
The answers to your questions are multifaceted and are typically designed based on your needs. For external PWM, the faster your frequency, the lower your resolution. your frequency for external PWM isn't limited by our converter, rather, it is limited by your component selection. Similarly, the internal PWM is configured by varying the capacitor value connected to the RAMP input as specified in the data sheet. Therefore, your limitation for analog dimming is determined by the capacitor values you select.

- What is the generated PWM frequency of the generated PWM with an analog signal applied?
again, it is really limited by your capacitor selection, however, this is the frequency range we recommend to achieve optimal results when utilizing our device to light LEDs
